NOV 20 2026 6:30PM: Friendsgiving: Southern Turkey Day Classics - Hands On
Available in stock (16)
Thanksgiving is about family, but Friendsgiving is about the family you choose, and it deserves a feast just as memorable. In the South, that means a table loaded with golden roast birds, buttery mashed potatoes, rich gravy, and every classic side that makes the holiday worth the wait. Join James Beard Award-winning author Chef Cynthia Graubart for a class dedicated to the Southern Turkey Day classics, scaled and streamlined for a festive gathering with friends.
This class is about cooking a holiday meal with confidence instead of stress. Chef Cynthia shows you how to roast juicy, beautifully browned Cornish hens with a fragrant herb crust, a perfect alternative to a whole turkey for smaller gatherings. You'll also learn to whip up the creamiest mashed potatoes, make smooth, lump-free gravy, caramelize Brussels sprouts to sweet-savory perfection, and balance tart and sweet in a homemade cranberry sauce. Whether you're hosting your first Friendsgiving or simply want a fresh take on the classics, you'll leave with a complete holiday menu and the know-how to pull it off with ease.
What's on the Menu:
- Herb Crusted Roast Cornish Hens: All the flavor of a holiday roast, without wrestling a whole turkey. Individual Cornish hens are coated in a fragrant herb crust and roasted until golden, crisp-skinned, and juicy, making for an elegant presentation that feels special for every guest at the table.
- Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts: Sweet, smoky, and impossibly crave-worthy. Brussels sprouts are roasted until caramelized and tossed with crispy bacon and a touch of maple, the side dish that disappears first at every holiday table.
- You'll Remember Me When I'm Gone Mashed Potatoes: Rich, buttery, and so good they live up to the name. Chef Cynthia shares the secrets to ultra-creamy, deeply flavorful mashed potatoes your friends will be talking about long after the plates are cleared.
- No Tears Turkey Gravy: Gravy without the panic. This foolproof method delivers a silky, savory, lump-free gravy every time, taking the stress out of one of the most intimidating parts of the holiday meal.
- Tart and Tangy Cranberry Sauce: Once you make it from scratch, you'll never go back to the can. Bright, tangy, and just sweet enough, this homemade cranberry sauce is the perfect fresh counterpoint to a rich holiday plate.
The evening ends the way every Friendsgiving should: gathered around the table, tasting everything you've made, from crisp, herb-crusted hens to that last spoonful of tangy cranberry sauce. Come hungry and bring a friend; this is the Southern holiday feast Atlanta has been waiting for.
