All-Clad Cookware Buyers Guide

All-Clad LogoIf you travel in the company of foodies you will certainly hear the name All-Clad mentioned when it comes to discussing the tools of the trade. The name All-Clad has become synonymous with excellence in the culinary arts. If you look at fine food publications when it comes to cookware no matter what the brand, it will inevitably be compared to All-Clad. All-Clad has truly become the standard by which all cookware is measured. All-Clad brought the world cookware with a clad design, hence the name All-Clad. So what is clad cookware? To understand clad you might reach into your pocket and pull out a dime or a quarter. If you look at the edge of the coin you can see it is 3 pieces of metal bound together. Actually All-Clad used to mint dimes, quarters and half dollars for the US government.

Over time John Ulam, founder of All-clad, realized that by bonding different metals together special properties could be achieved. The synergies found when binding stainless steel and aluminum or stainless steel and copper resulted in cookware celebrated around the world! 18/10 stainless steel became the universal cooking surface as this steel does not interact with food. The core metals chosen were aluminum for quick even heating or copper which does exactly what aluminum does only faster! Different clad designs came to cookware and we know them as MC2 or Master Clad Cookware, Stainless Steel, d5 Brushed Stainless Steel and Copper Core! A lot of our customers ask us which is the best design, that really is the hardest question to answer. It really all depends on what you are looking for in your cookware. The information below should help you find the right design for you.
