Steelport Knife Co. is a small company reintroducing heirloom American-forged 52100 carbon steel cutlery. Their knives feature performance, exceptional design, and handcrafted individuality. Each knife is manufactured and sharpened by hand in Portland, Oregon. The 4” paring knife has been designed for a high level of maneuverability and application - to trim, slice, and peel small produce such as small fruits and vegetables, garlic cloves, and herbs. A paring knife is second only to the chef’s knife in terms of frequency of use.
The sheepsfoot tip gives the blade a flatter profile so that it makes more contact with the board. Steelport’s paring knife is intentionally taller and larger than the average paring knife, to give it precision without being too delicate. The contoured handle offers a comfortable close grip for finger control and finesse.
Steelport knife handles are contoured to accommodate any hand with a unique 2” height at the blade heel for finger clearance. The handles are made of Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl, a locally sourced unique burl wood, which is stabilized with resin to make them impervious to moisture.
These knives should be washed and dried by hand. Do not place them in a dishwasher. Carbon steel naturally develops a patina with use over time. You may also use the Steelport Knife Care kit to care for your knives.
