Steelport Knife Co. is a small company reintroducing heirloom American-forged 52100 carbon steel cutlery. Their knives feature performance, exceptional design, and handcrafted individuality. Each knife is manufactured and sharpened by hand in Portland, Oregon.
This 6” boning knife was named “Best Boning Knife” 2023 by Field & Stream. It is a perfect tool to safely and efficiently break down and clean up meat with its unique design and functional details. The slightly wider blade than the average boning knife means it can handle more sharpenings during its long blade life. However, it is still narrow enough with an agile tip to perform fine detailed work. The safety guard at the bolster is extra wide for protection and control, helping to prevent injury when hands are wet or greasy from breaking down meat.
Steelport knife handles are contoured to accommodate any hand comfortably. They are made of Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl, a locally sourced unique burl wood, which is stabilized with resin to make them impervious to moisture.
This knife should be washed and dried by hand after each use. Do not place it in a dishwasher. Carbon steel naturally develops a patina with use over time. You may also use the Steelport Knife Care kit to care for your knives.
