About Nonstick Shipping Regulations

ALL CLAD:

Groupe SEB’s absolute priority is to produce safe and high-quality products to improve consumers’ daily lives. All our products comply with relevant rules established by the Federal Food and Drug Administration, including the relevant requirements of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations governing the safe use of substances in contact with food.

However, Groupe SEB seeks to be fully compliant with the 2025 PFAS MN Law which includes PTFEs in its definition of PFAS. Groupe SEB seeks to be appropriately inclusive in determining which products are impacted and cannot be sold in Minnesota in light of the breadth of the 2025 PFAS MN Law.

  • All Clad D5 Nonstick Cookware

SCANPAN:

Products containing PFAS of any kind cannot be sold in the state of Minnesota after 1/1/25, so in compliance with that law, we will not be shipping or selling in Minnesota after January.

We are committed to delivering safe, best in class cookware now and in the future. As always, we are monitoring the ever-changing landscape around nonstick and researching and pursuing new technology to ensure we are compliant with coming regulations. We have been testing alternatives for many years and will continue to do so. If a change becomes necessary, we will be ready.

Scanpan complies with all applicable legislation and manufactures under regulation from the Danish and EU authorities regarding both environment and food contact materials. In addition, we work to reduce the overall environmental load by producing long lasting products.

Scanpan's products contain, among other things, PTFE as a basic element, which is included in the large group of over 12,000 different substances that are defined as PFAS. We believe the use of certain PFAS substances are necessary in nonstick cookware for good function and durability. These substances do not migrate out during use of the cookware as they are completely bound in the hardened coating. This is confirmed by the Danish consumer council TÆNK, which states that the use of the product is safe.

Scanpan is under much stricter government regulations (environmental, food safety, and manufacturing) in the EU than anywhere else in the world. By choosing Scanpan, which is Made in Denmark and uses exclusively European nonstick suppliers, you are buying a product that is produced responsibly for the environment and the entire supply chain.

All Scanpan Nonstick products cannot be shipped to Minnesota.

ZOJIRUSHI:

Effective January 1, 2025, certain models will no longer be permitted for sale within Minnesota due to new state regulations restricting use of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in food contact areas.

These regulations are part of Minnesota's ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers by eliminating the use of PFAS in products that come into contact with food. The affected items include any that utilize PFAS in their construction or design where food contact is involved.

All Zojirushi products stocked on our website cannot be shipped to Minnesota.
