Global knives are cherished the world over. Sold in 86 countries and territories, Global knives set themselves apart from other knife lines by their unique design. Most western knives are sharpened to a beveled edge. Global knives are actually ground on both sides so the blade tapers narrower and narrower right to the edge. If you were to look at a cross section of a Global knife you would see a very narrow triangle. The result is a razor sharp blade that remains sharp much longer and requires sharpening less frequently. The Global blade does not have a bolster, so the entire length of the blade is a cutting edge. Global uses a proprietary steel, Cromova 18 stainless steel for their knives. It is composed of Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium. It is called Cromova 18 because 18 is the percentage of Chromium in the steel. Chromium is used for its superior stain resistance.
The Global handle is hollow and filled with sand to provide proper balance. It has a dimpled or dotted finish which is elegant and makes for a sure grip. Global knives are lighter than western knives reducing fatigue. Global knives set themselves apart from other knives by design. They are lighter, hold their edge longer, they are balanced and deserve a prominent place in your kitchen!
